Fundations
Through the Fundations program, students will be instructed in phonemic awareness and word study. Fundations sets the foundation for writing with direct teaching of handwriting, spelling, and the basic skills for capitalization and punctuation. More specifically, the skills that will be taught through this program are:

Kidwriting and Creative Writing:
Sentences and short stories will be written throughout the school year. First graders are expected to:
