Meet Mrs. Brooks

Hello! My name is Karrine Brooks. First things first...the most asked question I've gotten my whole life, "How do you pronounce your name?" It's the same as Corinne. I am a graduate of Penn Manor High School. Originally, I went to Slippery Rock University to study Elementary Education, but then transferred to Millersville University. I graduated with honors from Millersville in 2008. For my graduate work, I went back to Millersville and received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Teaching Kindergarten is the best job in the world! I previously taught half-day Kindergarten for West Shore School District for 9 years. I was thrilled to see LD make the switch over to full-day Kindergarten in 2017! During my first year here with Lower Dauphin I taught second grade, but was lucky enough to get back into Kindergarten again the following year!

My hobbies include playing and watching soccer, volleyball, running, writing, cooking and being with my family. My husband, Jared, and I were high school sweethearts at Penn Manor. We have 2 kids, 2 cats and 2 dogs. Soccer is very near and dear to my heart. While in college, I started all four years in the PSAC conference for both Slippery Rock and Millersville as a goalkeeper. Random fact: my favorite animal is a raccoon, which everyone thinks is weird!
